Email toncizizic.mail@gmail.com and you'll hear back from a real person. Driftless is built and maintained by one independent developer.
Is the timer reliable in the background?
Yes. Driftless runs a foreground service and schedules each ping as an exact alarm, so it keeps marking time with the screen off or the app in the background. On some phones the system can still interrupt it — see the next answer.
My pings stopped firing.
That's almost always the phone's battery optimization closing background apps. In your system Settings, allow background activity / auto-launch and disable battery optimization for Driftless. The first-run setup walks you through this, and keeping Driftless in your recent-apps list helps too.
Will it drain my battery?
No. There's no network and no continuous processing — the device only wakes for the fraction of a second it takes to play each sound, then sleeps again.
Can it sound during Do Not Disturb?
Only if you turn that on. There's an optional toggle to let pings play through Do Not Disturb; it's off by default.
What do the A, B, and C sounds mean?
A is the steady beat on every interval. B is an alternate sound that marks longer stretches so you can count by ear. C is an optional gentle marker on the hour. You can pick a different sound for each, or turn the extras off.
What data do you collect?
None. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no internet access. Everything stays on your device. See the privacy policy.
How do I stop it?
Tap Stop in the app, or use the Stop action on its ongoing notification.
